Every brand has a messy middle. Ours has paint cans, crutches, and a goat chewing on the edges.
When Loaf and Lore first came to life, it was about bread – cottage food baked small, shared local, and handed off with flour still on my shirt. That part hasn’t changed. But somewhere between developing the Mountain Loaf, a home remodel, and the discovery of a Hobart mixer at a garage sale (thanks, hubbs!), I realized this brand has always been bigger than baking.
Loaf + Lore isn’t just about feeding bodies. It’s about feeding stories.
What’s New (And Not-So-New)
-
The Loaf: We’re coming back simple – mini loaves, baked with stubborn resilience. The Mountain Loaf and the Goat Loaf are coming soon, along side A-Z bread.
-
The Lore: Event kits, stickers, tees, and our upcoming Goat Fortune Cards. Because goats have opinions, and they deserve to be shared.
-
The Wisdom: Writing! The Mountain Isn’t Moving and other scrappy guides on the horizon.
Why the Goat?
True story: goats were my first phobia. On a childhood field trip, a herd of thirty goats swarmed me and ate so much of my clothing that the zoo had to give me a T-shirt just to send me home decent. For years, I couldn’t stand the sight of them.
Now? They’re the heartbeat of this brand. Stubborn, scrappy, chaotic, and surprisingly wise – the goat became a field guide for how to survive messy seasons and still keep climbing.
The Season Ahead
Right now, the kitchen is still under construction. Counters, paint, backsplash, floors – all in progress. Which means the oven is quiet, but the brand is not. You’ll see Goat Notes in your inbox, fortunes on your feed, and new merch arriving before the first loaves leave the oven.
When the kitchen reopens, Loaf + Lore will feel like it always should have: a place where bread, stories, and goat-based wisdom live together.

I am so stoned and I found myself reading these random essays and text and paragraphs hidden in among the Loren Ipsum stuff above and on every page of this demo theme.
I like the theme. I don’t know why I read the placeholder blog posts but I’m glad I did!
